Hey guys ,

New to the site . I’ve got a vz ss ute which has been lowered by Previous owner.
I have 18s on it currently. But I want to put the 20” E3 gts wheels on the ute . Tyre size will be 245/30r20 on the new e3s.

The ute has FE2 suspension but apparently this is a problem due to the strut body??

See pictures attached at current height and wheels I wish to fit with tyre sizes above .

1. Will they fit with the FE2 suspension
2. Will I need to get guards rolled
3. Anything I’m missing please let me know.

Thanks and look forward to responses. And hopefully they fit

At a minimum you'll need to have the centres of the wheels machined out to fit over the hubcentric lip on the VZ.

I have SSV 19’s on mine with the same circumference as the tyre size you have there on the 20’s. Should fit. Machining needed (as mentioned) and deep threaded wheel nuts.
It will be close on the strut top. Mine is just enough to uncomfortably fit my finger between.

Yeah they’re coming off a vy wagon so the centre has already pre done. I am just concerned about the struts in the front and of guard rolling is required.

If they are off a VY, won’t matter. Should fit fine.

Yeah so they’re 10mm bigger with tyres and it doesn’t look like they’ll fit on the front anyway with the FE2 struts ........ ‍♂️

Fe2 or not, that doesn’t change the strut base length between the wheel centre and the spring seat base.

Fe2 Spring above that point pictured will have a different height.

The length of the bottom spring seat and mounts is the same on VZ and VY. It’s only the the sway bar link that differs.

Mine look like the don’t fit but they do.
It’s that back corner that comes close.
The top of the tyre to strut spring seat base won’t change when the car is jacked up or lower to the ground
