Will 3.45 0758 diff gear ratio fit the 0575 centre

Just got a lot of mixed answers on this question as some same change the pinion baring and it should be all good but need to find out if the 0578 gear set will
Fit onto the 0575 centre people say its possable but just how possable is it? Can it be done or is it some thing that only a proper shop
Can get this job done?

Impossible.

0578 series gear set will not fit into the 0575 axle housing as the 0578 series gear sets are .3in bigger than 0575 series. Hence the numbers.

0575 - 7.5in crownwheel.
0578 - 7.8in crownwheel.

You CAN get it to fit if you machine down the rear pinion bearing cup surface by approx 3mm. An expensive decision.
