Probably a newbie question but be nice to me. Got my VF SSV and agree with other members that a catback system to bring back the growl would improve it. My daughter tells me of a friend who did a full system on his VZ and dropped his fuel figures from 12l/100 to 8l /100 klm.
Will a catback ( not a full extractor system ) bring any fuel improvements?

And imo a 33% economy increase from increasing exhuast flow sounds like a load of rubbish...

It will get worse, at least until the novelty wears off :driving:

When I first put my catback on the fuel usage did not change much, but the smile on my face did :)

Yes and no. It will depend on how you drive it and where you drive it.

Around town, no, it will get slightly worse, but on the highway at cruising speeds, it will improve. It depends on where you do the majority of your driving or how often the car is cruising and not accelerating and braking.

Catback no.

Full system with a tune, yes.
My usage went up with a full system and a tune :driving:

As for a catback saving fuel, i don't think it does just makes it sound a bit better. Full system and tune is the way to go

I did a run down to Albany and back to Perth, got average 9.1 ltres /100klm. The VF Calais V is the best car I have ever had or driven.
