will a VS V8 transmission fit a VR V8

i have a VR statesman and just blew my transmission up i picked up a transmission out of a VS maloo ute and took it to my local mechanic to be fitted and got a phone call back saying it won't fit!!! apparently it will bolt up but they have different wiring plugs??? the mechanic says it CAN"T be made fit... does this sound right!! please someone help im desperate!!

You probably need the VS ECU, that may help.

Just a thought, check on that one dont take my word for it.

Is it a like series 3 Ute it came out of? I think they used the Tremec gearbox, not the T5 but I could be telling stories

yes but i thought i might have been able to get a straight answer in this section??? i have no idea where to go to find out if it will fit forsure.. i'm really stuck as the car isn't going at all now and it's stuck at the mechanics!! i don't want to pay to have it towed somewhere else if it isn't going to fit then have to have it towed back home again...

I had same prob it bolts up fine but the round plug doesnt fit the vr box has a coulple less pins there may be a after market adaptor but ive neva seen 1..
