Welcome to Just Commodores, a site specifically designed for all people who share the same passion as yourself.
According to Brett from Shockworks, they have the Stinger doing 0-100 in 3.9s. He said tunig the chasis has seen marked improvements on the performance of the car and have wiped .6s off the quarter mile. We spoke at length last night and he was raving about the Stinger.
He also noted that drag racing is becoming a bigger sport over there now too.
I would be interested to know what tuning has been done to get +125HP.Is that the awd stinger or the rwd one that is hitting sub-4 seconds?
Apart from the concern over internals that aren't strong enough to hack it (and yeah we don't know how long that engine would last with +125hp), you wouldn't expect you'd need to do a lot to increase a turbo 3.3L engine's output by an extra ~30%, when as a start-point it's only putting out maybe 20% more than current n/a engines of similar capacity? Cams & replace the turbo(?s?) with something more laggy?I would be interested to know what tuning has been done to get +125HP.
Happy to be talking out of detuned factory stock versus launch controlled overboosted stock BTW, as I posted above both engines are able to make this power.Apart from the concern over internals that aren't strong enough to hack it (and yeah we don't know how long that engine would last with +125hp), you wouldn't expect you'd need to do a lot to increase a turbo 3.3L engine's output by an extra ~30%, when as a start-point it's only putting out maybe 20% more than current n/a engines of similar capacity? Nah that’s not fair, more specifically like the Cruze to the VF Motorsport:Like the SS to the SV6
Agree, the SV6 is still a sports Commodore and not too far off a base SS. In the same way, there are 2 litre Stingers. However. plenty of smaller KIAs look very similar to a Stinger to the unfamiliar observer.Nah that’s not fair, more specifically like the Cruze to the VF Motorsport:

Never said the performance was the same. That's your assumption. I was referring to the general spec (motor aside). Got no idea about the real performance of an SV6, but it does make relatively good numbers on paper.Raises issue with people potentially confusing a Stinger for a lower price model...Monstar posts picture of two cars that even a 4 year old could tell you aren't the same. Meanwhile the SS looking near on identical to an SV6 doesn't bother you because the performance is close to similar...genius logic.
Nah bad example. SS and SV6 are same car different drivetrain. KIA’s economy car, family car and top Motorsport performer all look same. Certainly not $45k differentiation on looks and features like Holden is across Cruze and Motorsport.Raises issue with people potentially confusing a Stinger for a lower price model...Monstar posts picture of two cars that even a 4 year old could tell you aren't the same.
