Will a stock ss muffler fit my omega ute? Both are utes and yes I already have dual exhaust, 1 each side so will the SS quad tips just bolt straight onto my exhaust? Also will it sound any different or drone? I have the 195KW high output v6. Cheers

    Drone = yes (from manual or/and non-AFM V8)

Drone = no (from auto with AFM V8)

As always, happy to be proven wrong but the 2 outlets from muffler as opposed to single into Y join then twin tip, will drone.
I don't think drone is any different from sedan/wagon compared to your ute.

I'll dig around and find a recent thread from JC member who put the none AFM muffler on and confirmed a drone but was happy to live with it.

My bro-in-law is happy to live with drone on his SV6 sedan with the non AFM muffler, if driven it quite a few times, it's not that bad.

ps - liking these mods/plans for your ute Jazzas202!

The ones with the Y join are also from Wagons to stop the huge drone they have.

It's a ute, drone is behind you and not in the cabin like a sedan or wagon - i'd roll the dice and try non-AFM
I'd even try look for the Maloo mufflers with the aluminium tips! (ignore the bi-modal part from E2's and E3's, you won't get it to work but they'll work like E1's :) )

Oh right would they all sound the same or would non afm be different as they are dual exit straight out of muffler? Also do the mufflers need to be off a ute to fit?

    non-AFM will be slightly louder.

drone kicks in around 1,800 rpm (give or take a few hundred), depending on gear you're in.

sedan/wagon mufflers will be too short of ute

(nb: above info gained from helping fitting used non-AFM muffler to bro-in-laws SV6 sedan, then fitting used AFM muffler to same SV6 sedan, bro-in-law went back to non-AFM mufflers as he liked sound and could deal with the drone...it's all personal)

(if you don't like them, re-sell them on eBay or gumtree, for $110 :) )

One with Y join are from ANY AFM (active fuel management) V8; ie sedan, wagon or ute. nb: AFM only available in autos.

Quad tips won't fit on a single/twin exhaust omega/sv6 due to the bumper. The openings for the exhaust tips are too small... You would need an ss rear bar or modifiy the bumper to fit quad tips.

I wanted to do the same... But couldn't

If you had a sedan or wagon it would only be as simple as changing the rear diffuser.

Quad tip (non afm) will fit, as they are on my Omega ute right now.
Fitting took a fair bit of stuffing around including reversing the mounts, and shimming with washers and longer bolts.
There is not much clearance but it can be done (no rattles).
AS for drone, absolutely none with the manual ute, I could not hear any difference from in the car.
The ute now has extractors and 2.5 inch cats and mace tune and still not loud or droney in the cab.

I found that until I got cats and extractors my exhaust droned pretty badly but once I had them put on the car got a little louder, lost all it's drone and the note changed a little.

    Going from a 3/10 to an 8/10

Guys help would really be appreciated. As you know the omega ute rear bar is different to the sv6/ss ute rear bar therefore having a smaller gap for muffler tip. I am wanting to know if a stock quad tip SS exhaust will fit in the gap the omega rear bar has or if someone could measure the overall width of the tips? cheers!

utes have longer tailpipes so make sure you get them from a ute, the sedan and wagon are shorter
