Hey guys, Still on my L's and trying to get my car half decent before I get my P's so I'm still learning.

I got my hands on 5 VT SS wheels, and I was wondering if they would fit on my VS wagon. I'm still stuck as to whether the bigger ones will given the larger width.

3 are 235/45Z R17 97W which I'm pretty confident about?
the other 2 are 255/40Z R17 so thats what I'm stuck on.

The VS is stock height at the moment
cheers for the help.

chuck the 255's on the rear, 235's on the front, and she will be sweet.
you might run into problems with lowering the rear though

That's true I have a lowered vr, I am running 235's on the rear and even with the adjustable pan hard rod I scrub the rear tyres down a rough road or if there is people in the rear. It depends on the offset. If there different between the mags with the 255's and the 235's it may work

Well at the moment there aren't any plans for lowering, I haven't got the money for it and as good as it looks stock ride height will suit me until I can dump and start getting pulled over!

bump!
Spoken to a couple of people, one of which told me that due to the VS wagons live axel, 255 tyres may scrub at any time. As the set has 3 235 tyres and 2 255 tyres (all 17inch), I was wondering if I could just solve the problem by buying 2 new 235 tyres so that all wheels are running 235s and none will scrub?

You could roll or trim the lips on the rear if you got really stuck..

dunno about that mr calais, seems a lot of work for something that probably has an easier fix. I was thinking of either taking the 255 tyres off and replacing with 235 tyres (just a question of whether those wheels will be too wide for a 235 tyre - I dont know). Or just shopping around for a couple more that match the other 3. Pretty dissapointed that I didn't realise they were from different sets, yet they may still fit and all could be okay.

If theyre standard VT SS rims the 235's will fit for sure. I think thats the standard width for them
