    Hey guys

Recently purchased a VT wagon that has a few issues, most of them I have resolved but this one has me stumped.

When I purchased the vehicle the drivers side window wouldnt work at all. Replaced the Regulator and motor and the centre console switches but yet the window will only go down and not up!!!

We have tested to see if power is making it to the window motor and it is. We even unbolted the regulator and tested it on the left side of the car and confirmed the motor goes both up and down. The only way we can get it to go up is to reverse the wiring on the motor itself but then obviously it wont go down...

Any help here would be great... rather not go to an auto sparky.

Maybe a broken wire in the door loom, in the rubber boot between to door and body.

Ill check this out, but I would have thought that would have affected the voltage going to the motor??

You have voltage going to one wire for up and then to the other wire for down, so if one wire is broken the power won't get to the regulator motor and I'm only guessing that it earthing through the body perhaps.

Just tested this. There is the same amount of voltage on both wires. Tried the first wire that sends power for the regulator to go down that was fine. But got the exact same reading with the wire that tells the regulator to go up?

I wouldn't have a clue then, I'm out of ideas.
