Ok, am down to 59 and have switched a few things off at Startup on the msconfig tab. Have also selected the selective startup thing. Do all those have to be ticked, or can i turn one or two of them off?

I got 67 running. I'm using Vista so not sure how many processes need to be running.

Brand new 1 week old machine here running vista, 78 processes currently running. Admittedly quite a few are listed more than once.
