Windscreen Washer Jets Not Responding

Hi there,

My VE Calais Series 1's windscreen washers are inoperative, no sound at all to be heard when trying to activate.

Is there something I can try before I bother my auto electrician with that?

if you have someone who can assist you and you can access the washer bottle get the other person to operate the washers while you tap the washer motor i can't help you on the position of the washer bottle/motor but usually a few taps will free them up
they freeze up from lack of use and if that is the case the motors aren't hard to replace usually not expensive either

Washer bottle is bolted to the back side of the reinforcement bar with the pump on the drivers side, if you remove the grille you can get to it from there

If it is the pump,
And you tight for cash, get one from a wreckers, they are cheap to buy.

Okay thanks guys, will have a fiddle with the motor to try to wake him up.

Do I need to remove the water reservoir to access it?

No you won't, if you want to remove it there is 3 10mm bolts holding it in place, 2 on drivers side 1 on passenger side, search eBay to give you an idea

Checked fuse/relay?
Engine compartment fuse box, F21, R15.
