VL Commodore Poverty Pack
In regards to this little item, on my 1988 VL Commodore poverty-pack:

Does anyone have a wiring diagram or can otherwise inform me of the purpose of each one of these wires?

Reason I am asking is the clip appears to have failed and if I am unable to fix it I will be cutting all the wires and installing a new one.

Cheers!:)

if your just going to cut the wires and put another plug on it why do you need to know what they are for?

just make sure your connecting the same colours together

Toyota Camry?
if the clip has "failed" (I assume you mean broken off) why not just tape the plug in? or silicon it (which will still allow you to later remove it)

I thought, since I was getting into the dash anyway, I would wire up a simple button array for the wipers and rear demister as both of the satellite arrays are malfunctioning and I am not fond of the standard buttons.

That is what I need the diagrams for. I have a good understanding of circuits but I cannot work safely if I do not know what wire goes where.

And by failed I mean that for whatever reason there is absolutely no current being received at the wiper buttons themselves. This may be a fault of the array itself, however I have decided to remove the whole lot as they have caused me significant trouble lately.

Toyota Camry?
just FYI, I pulled apart a spare switch panel thingo I have here (without breaking anything) and its all pretty straight forward to work out which wires are for which buttons.

the buttons switch to ground, not sure if that helps you at all.

does the windscreen leak on the drivers side?
the black box in front of your bonnet release handle is the wiper module, does it get wet?
wiper switches do stuff up you could just replace it.
