Windscreen wiper fuse keeps blowing

Hi guys looking for some ideas please. The wiper fuse keeps blowing on my 05 vz executive sedan.
The gf had a blanket on the windscreen and hit the wiper stalk the wipers went halfway and stopped now the fuse keeps blowing.
I'm hoping it's either the stalk or the relay surely the wiper motor is not that fragile
Is there something else I should look at?

Also is the wiper circuit somehow connected to the fuel pump circuit ?

First thing to do is - Disconnect the plug on the wiper motor
Second - replace the fuse
Third, is turn the wiper switch on !

if the fuse doesn't blow,
possible the Wiper motor is knacked !

Seems I'm having troubles getting the cowl off the 6 plastic plugs are out it won't budge on the edges is there another fastener that I can't see?
Is there any difficulty in realigning the wipers if I have to swap motors and they are (parked) differently

I have a vx series 2 wagon sitting idle is the wiper motor and complete mechanism compatible with the vz ?
I figure that will avoid any realignment issues.

Motor would of heated up and burnt it out.
