G'day fellas!
After a bit of advice, the mrs laser doesn't have a boot light. I've bought a 5m strip of LEDs which I'm going to 3m to the bottom of the parcel shelf. The only problem is, the lack of a boot light. This means I would have to run an independent switch, which isn't too much hassle but, where would I find a constant power cable? Would I have to run the positive to the battery? Thanks guys

You could get a test light with a sharp point and poke any wires you can find with no key in or key to acc and find a constant power source then just attach the + to that

Unless anyone has a better idea but that's all I got mate

There will be a constant power wire at the existing interior light.

Also, you could use a mercury switch mounted to the hatch or the parcel tray. It creates a circuit when it is lifted. Or again, wire it to the dome light completely that way when dome light comes on (door open) the boot light will automatically come on also.

So there should be constant power at the dome? Might be the way to go then. A mercury or magentic switch is a bit much as I'm not sure the car has a lot of life left in her. Thanks for the replies fellas, I'm surprised there isn't a light back there to begin with though...

If it's honestly that much of a piece of crap why not buy a new car?

Yes, there is two wires at the interior light. Constant and negative door trigger.

Well, I've tried to tell her it's a lemon but 'its in better shape than my commodore'. Needless to say, this is an argument I won't win.
