WM Caprice ECU

Hope someone can help with guidance , I am in Adelaide.
Check engine warning comes up- computer RAA says fuel delivery problem coils checked and OK
Have been advised to get a new ECU fitted
Would like to know the most cost effective way to do this.
Vehicle is in excellent condition otherwise

had trans serviced then fault code came up week later, he suggest that computer could be faultly.
Then engine Warning has come up several times took it back to our local mechanic each time he said it will keep doing it, get rid of car, has seen this in a few of these models like gremlins in the computer or cost will be $3-4k
