just having gone through all this you will need the TCM from your old Transmission for it to work unless you can get it to a tuner who can match the new TCM to the ECM. At the end of the day its much easier to get your trans rebuild if it needs it and/or replace all the valve bodies.

Thanks for the reply’s, looks like I’m in some trouble then as the original trans got scraped by mistake
