Wont rev above 3000rpm in park

Ok so i just cleaned my throttle body and reset the throttle idle learn with obd2 tool and the car wont rev above 3000rpm in park is this normal?

It is normal, part of the 'anti abuse' mode.

That's interesting. I didn't know the TAC could do that. Refer to "Reduced Engine Power Mode" in the attached pages from the Holden VF Service Manual.

Well, I looked at the pages in the pdf and the more I looked, the more confused I got. It was a lot easier in my day -- we just had a throttle cable, a return spring and a set screw to worry about. And you could disconnect the battery for years and the only thing that was affected was the clock. :p

Not being able to rev it past 3000 in park is good anyway. Its not desirable to rev up your engine with no load on the bearings.

Unless you're the owner of one of the many VN mang-boxes still getting around..

yeah you read that right, here i am asking the important questions
does an ecotec mang or is it just buick motors that are classed as mangs lol
i got a VS and wanna put a custom plate that says MANGV6 or V6MANG or something
Also will need somewhere to live cos my parents will probs disown me when I get the plate :)

haha!...I'd be happy to say that any VN-VS can be classed as mangs lol..even though VT had the ecotec..it's not quite in the same class..yet...
