Hi, Where can I get a workshop manual for the VY SS? Is there an electronic version? If not, is the Ellerys Automobile Manual any good? cheers, mike
Since purchasing the VN - VP I had Max Ellerys and said I would not buy another one, everything I found in the book that needing doing was for the V8 or the pictures were horrible quality making it very difficult to see what on earth they are talking about. I have been meaning to give Holden a buzz to see if they have one via electronic means but I did read that they haven't released them as the vehicles are still under warranty. I have a very strange feeling it could have been on here somewhere. Just having a quick look it doesn't appear as though Gregory's do a VY manual yet.
Ebay has one listed. I have noticed on Ebay an auction item that proclaims to cover the VY as well as the earlier VX, but I have no looked at it closely. I think it is an Ellery one. I bought an Ellery one for a VS about a year ago, and it did not cover the Getrag manual transmission at all. And Ellery do not respond to correspondence about this shortcoming, so Iwill be giving them a wide berth in future. A Gregory's can't be too far away. I am starting to look for one, even though my VY S2 has 2 years left on the warranty. If I have a problem with something, I like to brush up on the technical detail before discussing with the local service centre. Let us know if you find a good one. Cheers.
Hey guys I have the Ellery VT VX VY manual. I reckon its pretty handy, although have not read it from cover to cover, its been good for the dozen or so times ive referenced it. Its 500 pages and covers all engines in the models, and the different interiors fairly well. All up id say 50 bucks well spent. Fekason, this one covers tremac and getrag boxes fairly well. Wheelz
I have also bought the VT-VY manual and although it covers a lot of info, the instructions for the different models are completely mixed up, so you might be reading about VT or VY from one section to the next, mainly with interior dash, instruments, console and with bumpers. Fortunately most of the driveline, suspension, steering and shell are similar but you do have to be careful when it comes to the electricals. I own a VT2 and a VY so most of the mixed up stuff can be sorted out, but be prepared to read it a few times to be sure!! :b: Cheers, Mark.
