I enjoyed lapping my valves when I rebuilt my heads! Medium grit then fine grit I used. Took awhile to get it the correct valve sealing margin though.

Maybe because I was already tired from a weekend of cleaning parts and working on the engine.
It's not entirely horrible, it's just so damn time consuming.
