Heya all,

Recently got an SSV Z series (6M) that's already got a 2.5" Xforce catback (otherwise stock). Sounds great but I'm debating going to a 3" Manta and doing the cats and extractors too. I like the car stock so I've got no plans for more kw. Worth going to the 3" or sticking with the 2.5" and just doing cats and extractors? Youtube doesn't do the sound justice so I thought I'd ask here. Thoughts?

I'd feel a bit rude if I didn't give piccies of the car as well!

My ve had a 3" cat back exhaust on it when I bought it. It was the first thing to go and was replaced with a gts 2 1/2 system. The drone was too much for me even with my not so flash hearing. As your car is standard you could well lose power. You want a lot more power than standard to benefit from a 3" exhaust.

If you're happy with the sound now, then save the $$$$.

They're a good thing these SSV Zs.....but then I may be a bit biased.

If your intention is to leave it stock then don't bother with the extractors. If you do at some stage intend to modify your car extractors, cold air intake and a tune are well worth while. Check your insurance policy before you do anything.

If your not after power, put it back to stock, still sounds good under power, and will be more attractive come resale

Will definitely sound tougher with the extractors and cats would want a tune tho if your gonna go down that route and if your not really interested in more power best just to save your money

Yeah man if doing extractors/cats got to go whole way get otr/tune...may as well just to get most out of it.

If you like how it sounds now keep 2.5" as 3" is only good for pissing off the neighbours or head/cam combo.

Tell missus it needed the tune etc to turn off d.o.d & better fuel economy...lol

VE SSV Z SERIES
Hey mate. I have had 2 VE V8's both with x force systems and immediately ditched both for the DiFilippo systems. Sound is so much nicer and I believe Manta have taken over from DiFilippo using the exact same set up/design.
IMO well worth it, no question.
Enjoy the new ride mate.
