wouldent start

    i went to try and start my car down the street and when i clicked it over it sounded like the starter was trying but then it just conked out and then i tryed again but all i could hear was the relay clicking over so i waited 5 min and tryed again it took a few second but it started. i am think i need a new starter

    It's very likely that. I'd probably check your battery too, and if the battery's gone then check or replace the alternator. Chances are though, it's just the startermotor on its way out!.

    As above - I'd check the battery first - if it's much more than 2 years old it will be on borrowed time, however if it's still pretty new then check the volts with a multimeter with the engine running at about 1000 rpm....if it's reading about 14.3vDC the alternator is OK but if it's reading under 13vDC I'd suspect the alternator.

    i got a mech to come have a look at it but it started for him first try and it cant be the alternator cause i only replaced it last week but he said it sounded like the starter was on its last legs so and i am also getting my oil presser tested so that's like killing two birds with one stone

    check the power cable that goes direct from the battery to the starter, it may have a bad connection/dirty terminals etc
