Pushed the boost to 12 last night. Was so damn awesome but hit boost cut in 3rd. Amazing what a couple of PSI can do. The 1/4 is where things get broken Won't be seeing the quarter till at least the LSD is in. Trying to find a spare gearbox is nigh on impossible.
15psi is where more stuff starts breaking too Would be nice to see how it goes with 15 on the 1/4 mile though
Yeah I know. LSD first though. If I continue with this car though I will probably have to find another complete car just purely for the motor and box if/when I blow the current one up.
Oh yeah got an LED thing for the centre light from a customer the other day. Get in at night and your blinded. Now the door lights look crap in comparison though.
These motors aren't as weak as you may think. There's plenty of people running 250+ on unopened motors with 250k+ kms. The weak part is the spider gears. Fix that and your fine assuming you have a decent tuner. Motors are easy enough to come by. Manual gearboxes not so much. Edit: Dem doesn't agree I should put semi slicks on the stockies. Boooo.
They are only as weak as the person tuning it. They may take 250 with all the planets inline, if something goes pear shaped (bad fuel, too hot, etc) on an older engine it won't like it.
If you say so. Even the yanks with their dodgy fuel are pulling pretty decent numbers. The only thing you really need to do motor wise is maybe a better head gasket and arp studs to be 100% safe. Do remember this motor was designed when the japs were going overboard with overdeveloped motors. Fuel delivery is also something else that needs to be addressed once you go over about 200 hp. Lucky for me this is a weekender so if it takes a while to upgrade parts then so be it.
No but it's what can happen. Seriously considering restarting project with a better base. Kind of over all the dodgy crap on the current car. Then again don't really want two of these in my driveway either. If I could I would probably not even waste the time and get something like an S14 but mega cop bait and dem will no doubt hang **** on it (wait she already does with the Mazda )
Lol imo if he sells it it'll be for a soarer. I only hang **** on it cause he's like I can make mine just as quick as the clubby and I'm all but mine sounds better.....true fact lol
