In its decade and a half of production HSV’s indigenous Aussie sports ute, the Maloo, has been the pinnacle of stellar performance and standout looks in a two door load carrier. That’s set to be exemplified in the soon to be released limited edition 15th Anniversary Maloo R8 which will feature striking ‘Devil Yellow’ paintwork.
With the strong popularity of this bold, highly distinctive colour on HSV’s GTO Coupé and limited edition SV6000 model, the company has been inundated with customer requests to include it on the Maloo range. As a result, the 15th Anniversary Maloo R8 will be the first to use the knockout Devil Yellow colour in a limited run of 50 examples.
Production of this limited edition model is scheduled for around August 2005 and detailed specifications will be made available closer to that time.
Some HSV Maloo facts:

HSV will produce its 4000th Maloo in the 4th quarter of this year.

Maloo is the No. 2 seller in the HSV model range.

The name ‘Maloo’ comes from a NSW Aboriginal tribe’s word for ‘thunder’.
