Your VE- What problems have you had

Unlikely, more to the point, if you want to keep your Commodore rattle free then employ a Holden Tech and put him on a full time wage. You will never get rid of all the rattles in a VE, they are built like ****. Too many hard plastics, too many clips and joins, rattling is synonymous with a VE Commodore.

I've owned plenty of Commodores and I can deal with most squeaks and rattles, but this one just annoys the crap out of me. It's high pitched, coming straight from the aircon vent. I found another thread talking about it and how to reset the HVAC, so I'll give that a shot and see if it works.

I love my new sv6, i think it's epic.... but:
1. you dont get floor mats standard
2. you dont get seatbelt height adjusters (unless you wanna cough up $250)

other than that... I love it

So I've investigated my 'rattle' further and it happens even when the aircon is off. It actually appears as though it's coming from the centre speaker, one of the clips or something. I'll see what they say at the 3000km service, if they don't fix it, I'll give it a shot. I just don't want to go stuffing about with things as it's a company car (although very tempted to disconnect the centre speaker).

Back on topic, bought 08/07 VE Lumina back in August 2011. Only been driving it to and from work.

Problems thus far:

• Petrol - going from a 1.3 to a 3.6, in a week I spend more than I did in a month :hmmm:
• Driver's side speaker seems to have a clip loose.
• Wiper is **** quality and doesn't clean screen properly.
• Other than that, things are good thus far (might have to investigate timing chain however)

I thought I would get on board and make my list

2nd gear syncro (gearbox rebuild)
Clutch
Rear window brake light
Sump gasket leak
Steering angle sensor
ABS module, twice.
And going in next week due to a oil consumption issue. 7lts every 15,000kms is not good enough.
also getting vent selection issue fixed. It works real well if you only like it on your feet

I have just traded an 2009 VE SV6. Only issues I had was a clip on drivers seat trim broke (Im rather heavy) and the drivers window went up a few mm's to much pushing top of door frame slightly out! (water would drip in over door seal after opening)
Now have 2010 VESSV. Only issue is a sound of the exhaust rattling (I think) when I rev it to hear the Nice V8 sound through the pathetic factory sounding exhaust (albeit I dont hear the sound a lot when she's warmed up) but that will all be fixed when in the future I upgrade my exhaust.

IQ Screen issues!

Good day from the States. I hope no one minds me visiting with you. I recently purchased a slightly used 2011 Caprice PPV, with the 6.0, L77 engine. It is only supposed to be available to law enforcement here, but where there is a will, there is a way!:surprise:

My IQ screen did something quite weird yesterday. When I fired it up, the screen remained on the Chevy emblem, none of the AC and heating controls or icons were visible, and the only knob which worked, was the radio on, and mute. The radio volume worked, but it would not turn off.

I came back a few minutes later, and fired it up, and all was well, again.


It has done this twice. Is there a fix for this? Obviously, there is not a lot of information available over here on this vehicle.

Power steering pully
Rear shocks
Now has an oil leak which looks to be the front main seal

2007 VE Calais V - V6 Auto:

Warranty:
Roof mounted DVD replaced
Flip Key replaced
Battery replaced
Drivers Seat side panel replaced
Heater Hoses replaced
Front Sway Bar bushes replaced (suspension knock)
Sun Visor clips replaced (3mths after the roof lining removed for DVD)
Front Center Speaker replaced (distorting)
Wheel Alignment (3 or 4 times as it ate rear tyres every 15K)
ECU/BCM reprogrammed (muliple times to try to fix ABS/ESP fault that never was fixed)

Post-Warranty:
Front Struts replaced (LHS leaking)
Front Strut Bushes and Bearings replaced (finally fixed Front Suspension knock)
Rears ABS/ESP Sensor Harness replaced (finally fixed ABS fault)
Wheel Alignment (finally found a guru and now get +40K from rears)
Bluetooth Module replaced (draining battery)
Battery replaced (dead)

Stuff still to be fixed (only if I need to sell it):
Drivers Seat side panel (again)
Flip Key (again)
Front Centre Speaker (again - just poor quality OEM - maybe just disconnect it)

Car has done 190000km in just under 5 years. Haven't had any real issues in last 12 months (fingers crossed)
