That’s probably what his car was

They had a lot of issues with new transmissions as they would fail close to new as there may of been some build excess metal not cleaned correctly during manufacturing process. Eith when GM owned Opel or when the new owners took over cutting corners to make more profit.

The Aisin Warner AF50 family 8-Speed was built in Okazaki, Aichi Prefecture, Japan.

The GM developed GF9 family 9-Speed was built in San Luis Potosi, Mexico.

Hi guys,
I'm new here and I've got other gearbox related question. Sometimes shifting into drive the "D" just blinks for around 5 seconds and car behaves like it is in neutral. After that, you can feel car shifts into drive and you're good to go.

Any ideas?

Hey - still happens, service said that "there is nothing wrong and they couldn't replicate the error", I was thinking maybe gearbox is waiting to warm up?
