I was just about to start a thread asking about this lol

What gauge holder did you go for?

The JHP ones seem over priced for what they are, the Ebay ones look pikey and the HSV ones even more expensive (though the best looking).

Yeah i went for the ones from ebay they are actully really good and great match for straight plug in. only downside is i think they might be a slight differant shade of black/grey plastic have a slight more shine about them, but i havnt amour all'ed my dash yet so may come up even better yet (the JHP ones i dont like as they dont stagger towards the driver they just sit straight) here is a few pics i took this morning while still very cold i am yet still to get a night pic of it...looks so good at night with it being the same red colour also :)

It is actully a pretty easy job...allow your self at least a whole day if you havnt pulled a VE dash apart etc before and dont do like me and waste time looking for an ignition wire on the back of the centre screen...it has a good earth but only seems to have constant power?....only 3 wires black red and green and green isnt ign power...it must turn on with the radio from getting a signal or is controlled by the bcm???? ill give anyone looking to do this the heads up for ignition source see pics, pink wire with blu trace is on a plug behind the glove box it was the easiest point i could find anyway earth behind the centre screen and for an oil pressure gauge signal wire down dash out thru gromet above steering column and on to the oil pressure sender that you should have already installed on the bottem of oil filter holder with a t piece etc

Thanks :)

Adameksv6.....the gauges are Drift Iridium series gauges they come in red illumination and blue....you can buy them from Autobarn pretty expensive though they are about $150 each which is more expencive than auto meter speco etc, but i found it to hard to get them to light up red and just changing the bulb looks wierd as its just the back light. not complicated just time consuming if you need and questions answerd ill do my best for you since i have done this task lol...dont get impatiant with the dash you will only break something i got frustrated a few times and had to run inside and get a sugar fix before i forced something back together and broke it luckely i didnt and all worked out haha.

Water based lubricants? Might be a question better suited for a different website! But s for water based protectants and interior dressings, the best one I've found is a product by Prima Car Care called Nero. Leaves a natural finish so you won't get any glare in the windscreen and because it's water based, it won't dry out the interior plastics or leave a sticky film. Doesn't streak either and you can use it as a tyre dressing too - I've had it last on exterior plastics for upwards of 4 weeks and that's with weekly washes. It isn't an off the shelf product though, check out ZAS Car Detailing Products : The Best Car Wax, Car Polish, Meguiar's Car Care Products & More they stock the whole prim range. I think nero is around 20 bucks from memory and will last a while as you don't use much. I've used a few of their products and they're sensational - especially if you're anything like me and not real confident with a machine buffer! A lot of their gear is best applied by hand.
