Hi Everyone, I just got a price for my Vs commodore to be converted to manual. He quoted me 3200. Can anyone tell me if this is a good price. Or would it be easier to do it myself and just buy the kit for 2400. Any help would be appreciated.

It's not always cheaper to sell, the T5's are reasonably easy to source.

$3200 is a bit dear for a T5, $2500 is decent.

Well dropping the box, tailshaft etc is pretty easy. Installing the clutch pedal box and clutch itself is a bit harder and changing the engine loom is probably the hardest part.

I know a place in FTG that will do it for $500 and they know exactly what they're doing.

Have you ever changed a clutch before? If you haven't, it's best to leave it to someone else.

there was plenty of conversion kits on egay a couple of weeks ago that included everthing u needed and they all averaged under 1k for the kit, then most places will install for about $400-$600.

why not do that? u will save ureself heaps of $, thats what im sorta looking at doing
(just gotto blow my tranny so i got an excuse to give the missus to be able to do it lol)

If you have trouble finding one, you can use a ford t5 with a CRC conversion kit. All up costs $1650.
