Which oil shoud I use for best protection a fuel consumption.

Owners manual says 10w - 30w.

So i am tempted to find a 10w - 30w semi synthetic.

Or would good brand 20w - 50w be reasonable.

The car has 95000K on it and I live in sunny qld, which is starting to get hot.

Love to hear what you guys use out there!

The holden workshop manual states you can also use a 10w-40w or 20w-50w oil. I run mobil synthetic s 10w-40w oil which holden dealers recommend. since your car has done 90000km's I would use mobil syn s as it also gives you better fuel economy.I hope this helps, cheers.

i worked at auto 1 for a while and we recommended Penzoil Multi-vis 20w-50 to all commodore owners.

On some commodores anything under 20w is to thin and can cause oil leaks.

cheers

Bad move champ. On somethink like thoe alloy blocks in the GENIII's 20W is not viscous enough on startup. Use what the owners manual says or something close, and always spend that extra for the good stuff.
