Hey,

Today I could smell petrol while I was idling but on the highway it wasn't there. When I got to my destination the smell was back. This has been going on all day. A phonecall with my mechanic said it might be the rubber hose leading to the injectors and I thought oh right no worries that might want changing then. Home job, easy peasy, no worries.

I popped the bonnet and went to have a look and then realised I don't really know what I'm actually looking for. Can anybody show me what I'm meant to be aiming for? A picture would be most helpful probably.

Running a standard V6 Ecotec. Thanks in advance!

Yeah, that link just went cactus on me too. It worked yesterday when I checked it.
I just typed in "petrol Smell" in advanced search on the forum home page.

I know it's a dumb question, but is your fuel cap on. I left my fuel cap off after a fill and got a strong fuel smell through the car?

Check the charcoal cannister and purge solenoid hoses as well.

Yeah the fuel cap is nice and firmly in there. Was pretty much the only thing I thought of at first. Glad it was there too!
