hi
this is my first post so i'm getting used to it all.
i bought a VX S-Pack in December 05, stock.
i am thinking about upgrading the exhaust system so it doesn't sound like it's breathing through a straw!
any suggestions?
how much should i be paying?
do i need a full system or just a cat-back system etc???
any recommendations on good (and cheap) sydney places to get this work done?

cheers

i dont know of anywhere in sydney coz i am from WA.
but i have been quoted $1100 (mild steel) or $1600 (stainless steal) for extractors - pacemaker headers, exhaust 2.5" cat back with performance mufflers, and tip

i would recommend a K&N Panel filter for your CAI.
cost about $120
this will definetly help it breathe better

I paid $900 for a high flow 2.5 inch system and pacemaker extractors for my VT, all fitted a couple of weeks ago. Think I did quite well. It just depends on where ya go, im in Melb so obviously prices can change from state to state but anywhere from 800-1200 depending on the brands etc is quite good.

are these legal?
i heard something about their pod filters being banned (in NSW, anyway). do you know if the panel filter is the same?
also, would it fit straight into the VX's standard air box?

thanks

also, is there much point in investing in a CAI system like the one SS Inductions make?

don't really want to spend $500 they're asking if it's not gonna do anything.
are there any comparable products to this which don't cost a bomb?

not to repeat but yes it is legal and yes there are ones you can buy which will fit into the box. i have one on my vt.
in some states pod filters do require a permit to be "technically" legal

my personal opinion is that the SS inductions is not worth doing at $500 if your not going to put supercharger, turbo or work the engine.
mate has vt calais 5lt with a HSV upgrade engine in it and the K&N panel filter is more than enough so on six with minimal mods not worth it.
my two cents anyway

get that $500 and put a chip in it. More bang for your bucks :yeah:
