Just purchased some new rotors for my SS, and got Bendix ultimate pads all for the front off course. What experiances have you guys had with the DBA Rotors and Bendix brake pads. The DBA long life rotors are the hold seires which are slotted and drilled <--- are there any benefit having cross drilled rotors or they just wear out quicker.. I just think the holden ones are really poor quality and wear out so quickly..

Mate
I wore the Holden ones out in less than 10,000k
actually one of them cracked on a hipo driving day
so i got the DBA gold ones...cross drilled and slotted
.....
beawudifulllll...
they are!
but the pads....IMHO, Bendix Ultimates are not the way to go.... too soft,,chattery and dirty...for my liking :(
(I did try 'em but chucked 'em out)
go Ferodo or similar...your choice
i use use Ferodo 'green' on mine...
2 drive days at Sandown
they worked...pulling me up ..no worries
from 200+kmh ...time after time.... ;)
not much dust..litttle noise and easy on the rotors...
ppl were impressed at how good they were....

piccie is of mine...after 80 odd laps at sandown....

cheers

How much are the DBA gold rotors worth? And compared to other rotors (like standart VTs) are they much dearer?

I have seen some around and may need to get some soon, I had the gold slotted rotors in mind.

I just fit them on, and they look great on the SS. The DBA's slotted / drilled golds cost me around $130 each. I used the Bendix ultimates, which seem to be pretty good at high speed stopping. I have heard of cracking, but not sure how they were driven. Its great how the steering wheel doesn't shake anymore while braking... I think the origanl holden ones were warpped or however ya spell it..

no...
not on my VX or the VR (both use slotted and xdrilled F&R)
and both have done quite a few Hipo days at Sandown and PI....
some of the ppl I have spoken to, at either circuit
reckon they have had heard about them cracking...
but in my experience....
this cracking hasn't happened...on either car...
and they (the DBA rotors) certainly get a hard time
at the end of the main straight or back straight at Sandown ..
from 210-220...down to about 70kmh ;)
and you do that for up to 80 laps on a hiperformance drive day...
mind you...
I always do a cool down lap before pulling in to the pits....
so you are less likely to boil the fluid....
maybe that helps prevent cracking.... just maybe

hth

cheers
