Fault code 85! '99 VT Wagon 3.8

Did the fault code thing with the paper clip and got a 85 along with a 12 as usual. I have been having fuel economy issues which is why I pulgged the clip in to start with, and also the trans will kick down under mild acceleration and not change up again at all until i turn ignition off! Does any one have any idea what fault code 85 is and any idea at all what is going on with my trannie.

Ive never heard of code 85? When was the last time you had your trans serviced? How many kays has it done?

Fault code 85 is Transmission slipping, consult a specialist....

I have been getting code 85 occasionly for months but I don't have the other symptoms you've mentioned. Infact it still feels fine, but as WAGON MAN said, It's slipping.
