Clunck from rear, vx r8 clubby

Doe's anyone else had a bad clunck from the rear when they change gears hard in a manual? Mine sounds like the diff housing is hitting the floor pan?

could be the bush on the diff hanger is flogged out...i think nolathane do replacements pretty cheap it was in a street commodores or street machine magazine about how to do it yourself its pretty easy to change

you wont see much lol.... its in a big u shape frame infornt of the fuel tank so you could need a jack and stands

the half shafts are the main problem in them most the time if u replace them it goes if not well it something a bit more the half shafts from memory are abot $400 each

Hey there ive had the same problem recently, and the best way to check if its ya diff, jack up the back end of ya car, and leave the hand brake on. start ya car, and go from Park to Drive. Does the tail shaft move more then 1/6th of the way, if so you got major diff problems. Thats what ive learnt, i had the diff clunking for a few months, but had to buy a new one. LSD is the way to go

being an HSV it would already be LSD

Yep lsd and a good one at that no prob's with diff itself, thinking it must be something else as i know of another vx r8 manual that does the same, only happens with trac/off and changin real hard.
