Hi guys,

I have a problem with my fuel gauge on my VY Calais.
I bought a Dash Cluster from a wreckers and everything is fine except that the Fuel Gauge Seems to be Backwards in its readings.

ie. When Tank is full, the gauge reads Empty. As you use fuel, the indicator actually goes up towards Full.
(Dont we all wish we gained more fuel as we used it).

Anyway was wondering if anyone has had or heard of this problem and what a possible solution might be to fix it.
All other gauges are working fine, but the fuel gauge is working backwards.

Thats a newie. Something is around the wrong way But what?

Are the clusters the same part number? Have you tried swapping the gauge or will that void the warranty?

The dash is from a VY Belina. I have a calais VY. It is exactly the same dash. But I Suspect it may have been dampered with. I thought it may have been dismantled before by someone, and possibly they connected the fuel gauge wrong. But I might take it to holden and get it checked and if it can be recalibrated, will get it done.

Thankx Guys

Went to Holden today to check out the Gauge prob. Turns out that the Berlina Wiring Loom is wired differently to a Calais Loom. They had there auto Elec person tell me this. He said although they are the same dash in appearance, they have some different wiring in the loom + the BCM etc.
Makes Sense.

I will just have to live with it........ Its not so bad.

I done a manual conversion after having a prang in my vy spac. Put everything into a straight executive body. And I have the same issue. Which doesn't make sense to being the wrong cluster or loom because I moved all that over

vy has early and late fuel sender which work in opposite direction
you will need tech 2 or compatable scan tool to reprogram dash
