hello all just wanting to know the advantages and disadvantages of compressing springs...
1. the way it rides compared to buying kings
2. differece in price from buying or compressing
3. is it good for the car to compress them

No, he means getting them compressed to a different height at a suspension place.

Nah, caus the springs dynamics remain..

When you cut a spring it has to it can't compensate for the loss of the dymanics behind how it works...
Cut one end... it'll be too stiff, cut the other, too soft... cut either and it will no longer sit properly...

Getting springs compressed is sorta like... hmmm

Say u put weights into you boot until the car was sitting how u want it...
Well when you compress a spring its like doing that but once u get it sitting how u want the spring is reset to start at that compression...

Sorta...lol

The spring rate will change too when you compress them , will give you a harder ride, but no harder than low springs.

Why not pay like $150-$200 for springs?

if hes wanting to compress stock springs to heights available off the shelf, id be paying for new ones, over saggy old ones, but he could also have new ones, but wants to go lower again, or go lower than ones premade
