Too mays Ks??

Sorry if its been done before.

i'm looking to get a VT ser2 of some sort. (v6 only)
been having a little trouble finding one i'm happy with due to condition and how many ks its done.
now i'm wondering how many ks is too many for a VT?

basically i'm wanting to know what problems there are in VTs with over 200000ks or more or what is a good number of ks to looks for?
i know less ks the better but i only have limited funds say max of $10000 and most VTs in that range i've seen have been over 200000ks

I looked at really nice looking black VT series 2 executive for $8000 but it had done 215000kms and i was thinking it was a bit much

For $10,000 you should be able to get something decent with much less than 200,000 ks on the clock.

Try and negotiate the price down...

If its an exec with that many k's... It should be around 6500 - 7000 at most...

Search on carpoint and things like that, let the seller know that youve done your research and let them know that you KNOW that that price is too high.

If they wont go down, then keep looking, you'll find something with much less k's

215,000 is a fair bit... However commodores usually last for well beyond 300,000 if looked after properly (even sometimes when theyre not!)

I would suggest finding something with lower k's but thats only coz I like a car with lower k's... I baught my vt 2 calais with 133000 on the clock for 14,800 a bit over a year ago... So you can do better than that price

I have a 2000 series 2 with 184,000 on the clock.

I paid $13000 with 110,000 on the clock 2 years ago.

If I were buying a VT today, I would aim for sub 150,000km

Well i got my 2002 VX series 2 exec with 107,000kms for $10,000.
Im the 2nd owner aswell, it was immaculate, stock as with p/s, a/c, cruise, and 10 months rego. Funny thing was i wasnt lookin for a car at the time, was still happy with my old VL, but it was a bargain so i had 2 cars for awhile. I miss the old girl tho lol.

yeh mate id be looking more at a vx for that money....ull find u could pick one up either privately or from an auction with decent km's for round $10k :thumbsup:

I had a 99 VT Acclaim, immaculate with 150k, new tyres 17in mags and no one was interested in buying it til i got down to $8700. I looked in the Trading post to set my price and most were going for around 8-9k. That was over 6 months ago! Surely you could get one for around 9k in adelaide with less than 200k! Look carefully and u will find one!
