reving out hard before changing gear? please help!

Hey, i'm having a problem with my VX S.. I noticed a problem with my car reving out to about 3500 - 4000 before changing gear in 2nd and 3rd.. so I took it to a mechanic to get trans and engine serviced and still having problems with it, so I don't think theres anything wrong mechanically.
Does anybody know if its possibly a electronic malfunction??? Cheers

You may have a problem with the shift solenoids in your transmission. Take your car to a transmission specialist.

could be the tps or any number of sensor, did you get a diagnostics done on it (im presuming they have a connector for that)

i think i have the same problem mate.. mine will red line easily and revs a good 1000-2000 more than my old vx did. ive been trying to work out what this problem could be for a while, and am quite thrustrated now that im thinking of just taking it to holden.

please let me know how you go.. everyone seems to thinks its some sensors, and ive had someone on this forum suggesting that the IAC valve may need a clean, or that the TPS may need resetting (i have no idea what the TPS is)

hi, do you mean it free revs to 4000etc before changing? or do you mean it wont change untill 4000 no matter where the throttle is?

my vr does this in the morning its only usualy wen its cold and it only does it once then the 2nd one is a bit better then it dissapears its weird

Yeah, it just freely revs before changing gear.. only in 2nd and 3rd.. but if I boot it off the line.. its normal, changes fine.. only does it if I granny drive it.. its a really weird problem
