hi, didnt you buy it not long ago, and it was a off the shelf type?? how many k's have you done on it? it shouldnt need a new spring yet, but your looking at $500 for someone to pull it out, test it, put new spring in and put it back it

i thought the HSV/Holden LSD's used the spring type? what shims are you talking about? the only shims i know that get used in a diff is to set the bearing preload (backlash)

so what were you doing :D when it gave up and decided to only spin one wheel?

They have cones in them, when the cones wear out they bottom out and don't grab anymore, you can machine a couple mm off the bottom of the cone then add some shims so it's still as tight as it was before it wore out
