VX Dash Cluster Change Over

Hi All,
I am sure this has been asked before, but thanks for your patience and replies.

I have a Series 1, VX Executive with single window dash cluster. I am looking at buying a genuine and new HSV cluster and putting that in. My questions are
1. Will the new cluster use the same wiring harness?
2. Is $425 for a new blue dialed cluster a good price?
3. If there are any Holden people in the forum or if anyone knows how much does it cost for the Tech2 to be done?

It will go straight in the wiring is all there.
$425 is ok
Most dealers will charge at least an hours labour to program it for you.
you will have to make sure the odo is under 100 km or it cannot be programmed.

Hi,
im in melb. What does the programming do exactly? I was going to drive up to gippsland to have it fitted by my father but the drive back will be more than 100ks... so this now has me a little worried.

Blue dial

If you are interested I have a Blue dial that I want to get rid of, it will fit straight onto your original cluster and you will not have to get the new one programmed.

I paid $210.40 for it, I am going to sell it for $190.00inc plus postage.

For you interest, if needed, I can set these cluster to zero for $250.00inc plus postage, or if you want it set to "x" amount this will cost $330.00inc plus postage.

As Dr.Bob said... over 100k and ya stuffed!...tech 2 will set everything up correctly i.e. correct no. of airbags/correct k's from old cluster/and the air-con..since you don't have climate, it will display a small X in left hand window...tech 2 is god, wish i had one!.

The clusters can be re-programmed after the 100k mark but by another method, not tech2.
