HOW TO: chrome your vx calais/berlina grill (lots of pics)

ey guys thought i might post this up as i did this 2day :)

things you need:

1. take 1 vx calais or berlina car
2. take the grill from your car

3. place the grill on the ground and smear it in with the quick strip

4.grab a beer and wait around for 15-20mins........might need another beer i drank mine fair quick :)

5. grab the hose and rinse off the quick strip goo untill clean....then grab a cloth and wipe it down

6. should turn out like this :D

might need to repeat the steps 3,4,5 as it might not take it all off...i needed to do mine about 2-3 times to remove all of the black paint

How many other parts on the VT/VX can you do this too? Can never have too much chrome if its in the right spots. Just a shame your headlights aren't silver/chrome to match it.

aye dj will this work with the vr vs window sorround mold thingo's :) ive heard it can be done with sand paper but my dad would kill me if i fcked em up :p

yeh will probs b gettin the chrome headlights to match... not till next year....umm yeh i knw a few other models can do it.... i knw my m8 has done it to his vn calais....if u wanna find out...get a blade n scrape a small spot to see if u can, that wud be the best way to find out

you can do something similar to this with the vr/vs berlina grilles, they originally have a chrome lip with a grey background. I wanted a black background as the grey didnt go with my car. You could probably use the same quick strip stuff that dijm8 used, but i used thinners, a few rags and shedloads of elbow grease lol. It worked a charm, and from front on you get the black background, and diagonally you get a trippy reflection lol.

I have a wagon.. Wonder if this will work on the handle bit on the rear of the car.. The VY's came out with a chrome strip but not sure if under my colour coded one will be chrome..
