help with my window cross arm clips

these little plastic clips snapped on me and i got new ones, i cannot get them on. As iv tried to show in the picture, the ball on the cross arm thing needs to go into the clip and its nearly impossible. I have been told its hard to do but there must be some trick to it.. I cant get pliers in there so thats out of the question.
I cant take the cross arm out because theres riverets. Iv lubed it, greased it, sprayed it, tried everything. Help please

Maybe multi grips if you move the window up or down to get a better position with more room to move. Or maybe a lever mode of wood so you won't damage anything.

i think another guy posted this in a post above, he used a small g clamp and slowly did it uptill it popped in , hey thanks for putting pics in , im at my wits end figuring out how to fix my window , how did you get access to that panel down below ? is it easy to do would my series 1 vt berlina be the same setup?

Think I read on here somewhere that a guy popped the plastic clips in hot water first then attached the arms, I think he said they then popped in easy
not sure if the hot water has any effect on the plastic, I guess when it cools it would be hard again. Might be worth a try.
