i think its got something to do with the variable timing or something, the 175 just has it on the intake but the 190 has it on the exhaust aswell making it more efficient powerwise or something, apparently it just revvs a lot smoother in high rpm than the 175, therefore getting better power
On the 190 you have continuous variable cam phasing constantly adjusts the camshafts to their optium position as you drive.
Also variable intake manifold opens and closes to help maximise torque at lower engine speeds and power at higher engine speeds which gives an extra 15kw of pure power.
maybe i was dreaming, but I remember reading somewhere that these new alloytech v6s can just take a supercharger and it'll work out all the computery bits itself. like plug-n-play kinda deal.
Has anyone else heard of this or was i asleep? Coz it sounds like a good dream anyway.
i have a ute 175 on 98.... mate has a sv6 with custom air intake runs on reg.... in my experiance power wise didnt feel any different........ handling was different due to the sports suspension and wider feet on the sv6, thats it!
