Have you tried starting the car via the key fob remote start option?
Would be getting holden to read your car for any fault codes, sounds like an security system problem.

What I've have realised is when I'm in the car I can't push the brake so the car will not allow me to start when push the ignition button
This happens randomly
So remote start from the outside seems to bypass this problem
HOLDEN have said to bring it in and they will fix the problem
Thanks for the input

I'm sorry, I don't understand. What do you mean by "when I'm in the car I can't push the brake"?

Sorry
What I mean is when I get in the car and push the brake
The brakes are stiff so when I push the ignition button it doesn't start
After a while the brakes 'loosen' and I can push the brake to the floor press ignition and off I go
It's like when you get in a car and pump the brake without turning anything on the brakes get stiff
That's whats preventing me from starting the car the only way around it is remote start

It's normal in the VF for the brake pedal to feel 'hard' with no travel if you haven't driven the car for a day or so. That's because the vacuum gradually disappears from the brake booster chamber whilst the car is standing idle. I found it strange at first, since I didn't experience this in my VZ.

However, this shouldn't affect how you start the car. Whether the pedal has no travel or not, it should still start when you press on the brake (for an auto) and push the start button. At least, mine does! :)

Right
I have spoken to HOLDEN they say if you can't press the brake to certain point it won't start
Like I said the only way around it is the remote start
HOLDEN want the car back to address the problem
Are you a VF owner too?
Thanks for all the advice

It definitely matters if there is travel or not. No travel and the switch telling the ECU the brake pedals has been depressed won't operate.

That's what I'm thinking
So do you think it's the switch or brake booster?

I think there is only 1 switch so if it happens again get someone to see if the brake lights are operating.

Brake lights are working
I have spoken to HOLDEN and they are saying it could be a faulty switch or this brake booster
They want the car when I'm ready so they can fix it
Really appreciate all the feed back
I'm an idiot when it comes to cars at the best of times ;)
