I may be looking at this same option soon, as a truck decided to swipe the side of my Redline, causing substantial damage. I'll know pretty soon if it's a write off or not.

To me it's a no brainer, I'd go the R8. One is a Holden, the other a HSV. Albeit one is the top end of one model, whilst the other is the bare bones of what HSV offers. Putting that aside, i cant see any advantage for going the SSVR

The SV Black interior only differs with the regular Clubsport R8 on the seats where it uses the Redline items with HSV logo on the head rest and special SV Black sills. You get the Bose stereo (with a cd/dvd player unlike the Redline usb only) and all the R8 trimmings (like a Calais V) including HUD, collision warning, interior foot well lights and cloth trim pillars to the regular solid plastic.

Suspension tune of the SV Black is identical to the Clubsport R8 which has shocks, springs, and sway bars to HSV's R8 specifications. Oh you get Tyre pressure monitors too.

Thanks.

Its strange how there is no R8 badge of on the black SV, nor Clubsport writting on the doors.
Am I missing something?
If its an R8, its should say somewhere on the car .. same with Clubsport thing.

The SV Black is not an R8 or Clubsport nor is the Ute variant a Maloo, they're a different model.

The Holden dealer would call it the HSV Pink Flamingo if they thought it'd sell a few. :)

The HSV website lists all 3 LS3 special editions from last year, they explicitly name the one with the bone-jarring suspension as the Clupsport R8 Race Edition, but the one we're discussing here is named SV Black.

I doubt it. I saw a review of the 2016 LSA Clubsport R8 last night which said that it was an option for that vehicle. So I think everything under a GTS it's a $1200 option.

HSV GEN F2 SV Black
Officially the SV Black is called the HSV Clubsport R8 340 SV Black (Quite a name full). So the car mechanically is a Clubsport 340 through and through. The badges that have chrome are missing and/or blacked out and they went for the satin black look to match the stripes and wheels. To me with the unpainted lower body skirts it goes well. Reminds me of the Buick Grand National in scheme.

The EDI became an option in all HSV GENF2's.
