Hi there have a 1996 vs hsv clubsport 185i series 2. Now am looking for a pair of gas struts for the boot (model with the big clubsport wing), monroe doesn't have any. Wondering where to find some.

My last pair were purchased off ebay. Repco or supercheap will be able to get them in if you want it in-store

Yeap it was in AU. They are classed as strut for spoiler or non spoiler.
Some even list for clubsport with larger spoiler

Make sure you remove the two black rubber pads that go between the hinge and the body of the car before you start. Gives you a little extra room to work with. A helper to hold the boot lid is also useful.

Well, the Repco Australia web site specifically has the following note for the RGS14705 on a VS Clubsport. The RGS14687 is for a VS without a spoiler.

Any while you are in there, check the brackets. The spot welds often part, also causing boot not to stay up. So you might need to drill through and fit some bolts while old struts are off.
