Why is my car different

Diagnostic connector, for vy Belina mine has only 6 wires to it 3 terminals on top row 3 bottom row .Shorting out 5&6 on top row returns nothing engine light stays on and motor starts normally.On switch on tho the computer does a check and shows all ok,now is this showing that I need an OB11 cos I got no joy from the E F I live. need help.
