How many liters to the 100kms

I haven't done that on busy roads I travel an hour down a private access road to work so I'm not interfering with anybody else on the road. I was citing an example of how speed can effect economy based on experience with getting to know my car and no 1.5L doesn't mean anything to me so I sit on...

Abnormal tyre wear on VZ wagon

It is shall we say 'different' to drive I had posted a fair while back asking for help as it does suffer with terrible tram lining and seems to get knocked off line pretty easily. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

Abnormal tyre wear on VZ wagon

Yeah I'll be getting into the tyre joint tomorrow, I thought it would probably be bushes or something like that, sucks considering the car has only done 62k from new. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

Easiest brake upgrade for VZ V6 wagon?

I have to agree I feel the rotors are undersized for a car that weighs over 1.5 ton. I believe on the v6 the fronts are 264mm? (Correct me if I'm wrong). Take my wife's car a Holden Astra turbo diesel and that runs 308mm on the front looks daft the rotors are almost as big as the wheels but how...

How many liters to the 100kms

In my factory duel fuel wagon I average 10.7L per 100km. I do a 5 hour drive to work every 2 weeks, and what I've noticed with the Alloytec is that in essence the slower the high speed driving you do the more economical it is, for example I get 10.7 on average sitting at 110km/h if I wind it...

    Catback Exhaust dual or single?

I've heard the v6 autos can drone using one silencer, so you'll definitely sound ok with two. If you pm me your number can send you a sound file later if you want? The other thing to consider is whether you want to change your standard stainless steel exhaust for an inferior mild steel that...

    Catback Exhaust dual or single?

On my VZ wagon, I'm running twin cats and silencers with a Manta cat back system and sounds nice to me, not too loud and no drone, I drive 5 hours to work and it doesn't bother me at all. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

Abnormal tyre wear on VZ wagon

Guys I'm having some abnormal tyre wear to the rear left wheel only, this set of tyres (Firestones) have only travelled 11,000km I was expecting an amount of wear on the inside as the car is lowered and this what happens at the rear right position, but as you can see from the pictures this is...

Where about is the cabin filter, I'll be honest I never even knew it had one.

    Petrol fumes in cabin

Hey kids does anyone have any suggestions as to why I'm getting petrol fumes in the car? It only seems to happen when I have full tank and perhaps have just gone over a bump, I can't see any apparent leaks. The only thing I've been doing lately that might have something to do with it is...

Rear brakes running hot on VZ wagon

So I had a quick look this morning, and it appears the hand brake is binding a little bit. It's due for a service anyway so ill get it booked in next week. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

Rear brakes running hot on VZ wagon

I've done a roll-by a brick wall listening for rubbing, none is apparent, also no smell of hot friction material. I'll get the thing in the air in the morning and have a proper look. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

Rear brakes running hot on VZ wagon

Yeah the rears were replaced at the same time as the front. Both rear wheels felt as hot as each other if it is the self adjusters strange that they'd both start showing symptoms at the same time. Which is why I thought of the weight sensing valve.

Rear brakes running hot on VZ wagon

Hi guys have just come back from a 25km drive, and once the car was in the garage there was a very apparent hot paint smell (I have painted hubs and callipers) upon completing the sniff test & back of hand test the rear wheels are considerably hotter than the front. I haven't had any work done...

How do you attach the chrome bonnet strip?

Sorry to resurrect an old post, just found it on google, I'm thinking of getting one for my wagon as I've done the boot and door handles I'm interested to know what they're worth from Holden?

    Anyone running twin lpg tanks?

I did some calculations and and research tank & full of gas would be about 24kg. This extra weight could be offset by having a slime puncture kit in stead of a steel spare which I think weighs 10 - 15 kg.

    Anyone running twin lpg tanks?

Spoke to my local authorised Impco-Brc installer. And apparently it can be done, all they do is mount the tank behind the rear seats connect the two tanks using a hydrostatic valve, sort the vent tubes for the new tank and wire the internal float in 'series' with the existing float sender and...

    Anyone running twin lpg tanks?

I've been thinking about getting an extra lpg tank fitted to my factory duel fuel vz wagon for extended range purposes. Has anyone else done this? Just curious to know if its at all possible.

    What's causing this...

Hey buddy I did this in front of a highly reflective shop window the other day, and by god it looked like 2 inches of lateral movement, I'll be off to suspension shop as soon as possible!

So I took the plunge and bought a tech 2

Hey bud I was going to charge $50 bucks for programming my local Holden charges $125 upwards. Pm me if your interested

Yeah I think that is the best plan soon as I have some time I will do that.

Yeah mate I'm in Perth, coincidentally it was WA Suspension that fitted the lowering kit 3 years ago

    What's causing this...

I put Kuhmo Ecsta's on about 18 months ago have been rotating them so the wear is pretty even across the board. They weren't cheap about $300 a corner so I assumed they were good.

    Thinking of buying vz

I spoke to someone about the throttle lag, and its something to do with the actuator being out of calibration apparently this can happen if its disconnected without disconnecting the battery, he said there is an option within the tech 2 scan tool to calibrate it. I had a look on my tech 2 and...

    What's causing this...

I'm gonna see if I can the castor kit from my local repco today, the question is do I go for the 48166 or 48166E? I'm thinking the factory replacement kit (48166E) as my tyre wear is uniform on the front so I think no adjustment for the camber is needed.

    What's causing this...

That's bloody awesome mate ill have a look see tomorrow. I've always been a big fan of polyurethane bushes on suspension components.

    Thinking of buying vz

Definitely take your time. I knew I wanted a silver vz wagon with factory LPG, I was looking for about a year when my car popped up (3 years ago) it only had 19,990km on the clock with full Holden service history I did pay a premium for it, but talked the dealer into 3 years GM gold global...

    [Other] Which tools are best?

I've found a 14 set of metric & AF from kinchrome on eBay for $258 plus postage. The AF ones will come in handy as most yank trucks still use imperial.

Cheers buddy that'd be bloody awesome!

    [Other] Which tools are best?

The main sizes ill be using is 13 through 20, with 19 probably being the most used as that's the size I need for winding off brake boosters, when the diaphragm punctures or a kangaroo decides to do a death roll under the truck ripping off air lines and shearing the brass fittings on the booster. :D

    [Other] Which tools are best?

In an ideal world I'd use Snap-On tools for everything but their cost is just prohibitive for the average Joe-blow. Im in the market for some metric ratchet spanners, which will be used for roadside repairs of ones Roadtrain so they have to be reliable and hardy. I see kinchrome & sidchrome...

Horn upgrade on VZ Exec wagon

Hey man thanks for the reply, just to clarify, do you mean the same side of the car but opposite side of the suspension top mount? notice on the pic I have an un occupied bolt just under the big bundle of cables (bottom left) is this where you mean?

Horn upgrade on VZ Exec wagon

Morning guys, I purchased second hand off eBay, the premium 2 tone horn pack from I'm guessing a higher spec commodore. I can see where one goes which is on the right hand side of the engine bay but I can't for the life of me see where the other will go. And I'm not sure if the wiring for the...
