Now that Holden are going / gone, What Brands and models are people going with in the future?

Well I have, but the radio reception has been this poor since I got the car stock with no modifications to wiring. I've just put up with it over the years but it would be nice to fix the issue so I can listen to the radio properly.

I have a Series 2 SV6 Sedan 2011 model. I unplugged that black box (TMC) a while back and made no difference. It's got that bad now that I'm actually streaming the radio through my phone to be able to listen to it. Just wish Holden would do something about it. Certain stations are perfect but...

Problem with doing that, is that the plugs generally have circuit boards converting down to 5v and such.

Try using something like silvo or brasso to pollish the plastic and possibly pollish out the marks. Won't hurt to try, if it removes the marks then you wont need to remove the cluster :idea3:

I'm the same. One accident I attended was pretty nasty. What was even worse was that the person that was killed was one of the members mothers. Very well known in the area. Generally you should take professional CISM councilling.

a couple of ways of getting data off it. Get an external USB Enclosure. Install it in that then get a program called "GetDataBack NTFS" Install the program on another computer and then plug the drive USB drive in. Hopefully the program should be able to pickup the drive and start reading it...

Is the popup to a particular website. If so you can put that website into your host file as a loopback and whenever it tries to appear it will just bring up a blank IE window. PM me for details on how to do this. Not the best fix but it will at least stop the content being displayed.

Most people on this forum own a car !! :doh: I voted yes to scratching. I usually take a hand mitt down to the car wash with me and use that instead of the brush. Lately though I have been using the brush as my new car is silver and doesn't show the swirl marks like my old Black VY.
