    Usually there is a way to start it on LPG without petrol. Depends on system: some it is hold button 5 seconds, others require switch flipped back and forth.

    When you change from petrol to LPG, do you hear solenoids click? After you fit a fuel pump, it is quite hard to tighten up the 5 little bolts just right to stop fuel leaking. But then you would smell petrol outside the car as well as the cabin.

    Yes crank angle sensors are common problem, especially when it is 40 degrees in summer. Also check the plug that goes into the DFI module. Is it cracked? Are there burnt or bent contacts?

    Ideally, you need a Tech1. But they would show up on eBay once a year at most. You may see Tech2 clones that work with ALDL, but they wouldn't support a VS, only later models. The Vident partly works with VS. If your ute is manual with no ABS or airbags, it would be okay for you.

    It has some shortcomings for VS, but if original poster has a VE as well, might be worth getting.

    The USB-ALDL cable I got from eBay has a fat plug and it is really hard to plug into the socket. The Vident scan tool goes in better.

    I still have a K1000 and a bunch of lenses. But the cost of developing 35 mm film is too much nowadays. Looking at the bids on eBay, they don't seem worth very much.

    Loss Of Power Brakes On Sudden Stopping VS UTE

    The valve at the rear is load proportioning valve to limit rear brakes when tray is empty. Probably not causing the failure, as in a panic stop, most of the braking will be on front wheels. I presume it doesn't have ABS, being series 1 ute.

    I presume there are more than one brand of aftermarket fobs. One I bought had soft button rubber that broke in a year or so, Another had the opposite problem - hard rubber buttons.

    I presume your utes are manual with no airbags. The iLink 400 will not read airbag module on VS and the automatic transmission data is garbage.

    Does it read transmission, ABS, airbags everything? Sometimes with Chinesium scan tools, they don't cover every module.

    Do you have a red LED under the radio? Does it keep blinking when the key is in, or go out?

    Fuel System Pressure - Regulator

    If you have a V8, regulator is 3 bar. They still exist. For V6, you are out of luck. I have not found any other vehicle that used the same regulator. It sold out several years ago. If you find a VS in wreckers yard, they have probably sold the regulator already.

    I replaced dashboard warning bulbs with LEDs. Presumbably needs less than 2 watts, but doesn't seem to affect alternator.

    If no cylinders are firing, then suspects are DFI module and crank angle sensor. Maybe the connector going into DFI module. A remote possibility is wiring harness. I have seen one where the LPG controller was spliced in to get RPM signal, then the solder failed, so no more spark.

    Does it run on petrol? If so, then problem in LPG system - bad solenoid valve, stepper motor or LPG controller or wiring.

    It happened to me once. I was cursing, but it started working a day later. I can only speculate some gum in stale petrol had dried out on the contacts and rubbed off with a bit of movement.

    Fault codes vs executive v6

    No misfire codes with VS, but it does have a few "rich/lean/fuel delta trim" that come up with a bad exhaust sensor. I would guess with those 5 codes that the PCM has gone out of closed-loop mode and is not reporting any others.

    Also check the plug that goes onto the DFI module - see if any of the contacts are bent or pushed back.

    I have driven Falcons and Commodores all my life, I replaced all 4 tyres at the same time. How hard are you driving to flog them out 3x the rate of front? Rather I found on family member's FWD shitboxes, the fronts needed replacing twice as often as rears.

    I have changed a few pumps, and I think it is a matter of tightening the 5 little bolts to correct torque. If you overtighten one, it can cause leak, as well as a loose bolt.

    In the iScanzilla program, there is a submit ticket function. You have to put the memory card into the USB dongle to use this. They will probably class this as a "feature request" rather than a bug. I doubt anything will happen.

    The gauge isn't linear like that. I worked the resistance and hence temperature for each of the marks once. Sorry I can't post it now, as the data was on a USB drive that burglars stole.

    Last time I changed a pump, the new one was just under 2 ohms. I don't know how accurate the multimeter is when resistance is that small.

    I got a security printout from Holden dealer, and I took that to a locksmith. I got a new key blade cut to code, simply because old one was worn out, a freshly cut key opened the door without jiggling the thing around.
