Hey guys prob been asked before...
I have a 08 ve ss ute auto l98..
At idle hot/cold it seem like it has a very slight miss, car is completely standard
Have done plugs and leads
Fuel trims look good
Sprayed engine while running cant find an issue
Doesnt miss under load
Do l98 have this idle characteristic ?

Possible get it scanned to see if there is any DTC in the background,
(As not all DTC’s trigger the MIL.)

I did read somewhere the early L98 had cam and lifter issues, & piston slap.

Not that this is the issue with your engine.
But it was in the early versions.
Depending on the k’s it’s done, could very well be a lifter or cam lobe is worn.
It all comes down to maintenance history.
Could be a faulty injector.
Could even be coil trigger voltage.

Live scan data could indicate were the fault exists.

Thanks for the reply, engine seems quiet, no lifter noise even if left for days on end
