hey i was wondering if its possible to get a decent sound system for $1000?i was thinking VDO splits and 6x9's along with an amp or something????

Yeah, as long as you don’t want a sub it shouldn’t be a problem. You may have to settle for a head unit without extra features like a remote or a really cool display but.
My first sound system cost me $500. a set of 4” JBL 2ways, some 3way JBL 6x9’s and a pioneer head unit.

in nz dollars ive spent $1050. for that i have a nice mp3 player with prety pictures and a remote. splits at the front 150 w rms 6x9s 220 rms and a 222 amp. sounds great looks good plays everything and is easy to use. im happy and no one has EVER hassled me for not having a sub coz it sounds so damn good
